The speed at which existing homes sold in 2017 nationwide, reached levels that haven’t been achieved in over a decade.
Sales of existing homes increased by 5.6% from last October to November. Existing home sales were also 3.8% higher year-to-year, reaching a high of 5.81 million sales. A rate this high has not been seen since 2006.
Sales rose the most nationally in the Midwest, followed by the South, which could be consequential of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
These rates certainly aren’t sustainable, but the housing market is always ebbing and flowing, responding to thousands of variables and unexpected events nationwide.
